How weird is time acting just now? Super fast one minute then crazy slow the next. It was a busy week with work so I guess that sped things up a bit but the weekend has no excuse! Yesterday I had so many grand plans to get things done but instead I just got angry at a jigsaw puzzle of Cthulhu. Seriously, jigsaws are supposed to be relaxing but my Fitbit tracked that hour as a workout. Anyway….
What I’ve Been Reading This Week
My Dark Vanessa by Kate Elizabeth Russell
My full review of My Dark Vanessa will be up tomorrow. For now though, all I will say is that I found this a gorgeously written, immersive, thought-provoking and important book.
The Southern Book Club’s Guide to Slaying Vampires by Grady Hendrix
I’m still really enjoying this one! A great story with great narration. I’m only listening in short bursts, like when I’m dealing with Cthulhu, so it’s taking awhile to get through it.
The Fallout by Rebecca Thornton
You ever read a book so bad you angry your way to the end of it? Usually if I’m not into a book I’ll give it up, life’s too short and all that, but I kept reading to the end of this one almost as a kind of masochistic punishment for buying it in the first place. Insipid, vacuous pish full of characters that do things humans never would in a million years. Just very, very bad.
What I’ll Be Reading Next Week
At this moment I’m really not sure. I bought Pretending by Holly Bourne and Such a Fun Age by Kiley Reid this week but I’m waiting for my friend to get the latter so we can read together and I want to read the former so much I’ll not read it for ages (I know that will make sense to some of you). I guess it’ll be some NetGalley reads. Cuz I gotta.
What I’ve Been Watching This Week
Love Island– Still rewatching season three which is, in my humble opinion, the best season. Depressingly that’s all I’ve been watching on TV this week, I really need to branch out a bit…
